Best practices for beach accessibility in Corfu for disabled people

A new map has just been published showing the 21 beaches on Corfu that are accessible to disabled people.

These beaches have facilities such as ramps leading into the sea, amphibious wheelchairs or SEATRAC and the map shows the type of facility at each beach making it possible for people with disabilities and mobility difficulties as well as senior citizens to enjoy the sea.

It should pointed out that over the last four years Corfu has led not only Greece but also the world in the provision of these facilities.

A representative from Corfu Municipality has said, “There has been great international interest in the beaches with amphibious wheelchairs as it gives tourists with mobility problems from all over the world the opportunity to come here and enjoy their holidays.”
